Are you ready to experience a more fulfilling and meaningful life?
Many times during life, it may feel that you are not going down the path you had hoped, even when you have put forth your best efforts. We all have to deal with difficult decisions, challenges, and crossroads during our life and know you are not alone. Needing help to discuss, process, and work through situations is healthy. Finding an experienced clinical psychologist or therapist in San Jose is a great first step.
Our therapy, counseling, and licensed clinical psychologist professionals can assist you with understanding, finding, and using the inner strength that we often need in order to make those life-changing decisions. Professional therapy can tune up your behavioral health and help you learn how to face obstacles head-on. You’ll learn to do this with new coping and thought process tactics that can help you overcome the hurdles in a healthy way.
Our professional therapy sessions will help you to identify, process, challenge, and work through the events in life that can leave us feeling defeated. We can help you to identify what may be causing those struggles and provide resources and tools that can be used in the future. Some of our clients already understand the cause of their challenges, but they need help to fully put to rest and heal from whatever may be holding them back.
Counseling & Therapy in San Jose, Campbell and Santa Clara
Our therapists in San Jose offer many types of therapy, including couples’ therapy, EMDR, anxiety and depression therapy, individual therapy, child therapy, PTSD and trauma therapy, and psychological testing to name a few.
As experienced therapists and clinical psychologists, we often find that couples seek relationship counseling to help them to understand problems or conflicts from within the relationship. Often, this is simply an issue of needing to improve communication, but sometimes there are deeper causes that we can help to understand and alleviate. Sometimes just being in a safe, controlled environment allows couples to be more open and communicate more freely.
Many areas of friction in relationships involve how we interact and express ourselves and learning how to do that in a positive and productive way. Even if only one person is ready to seek counseling in the relationship, it is a great step in the right direction and can be very beneficial.
Together we hope to decrease negative interactions and replace them with positive ones to bring about new ways of being in a relationship. Ways that involve being close and having a sense of security.
We will help you to understand how relationships are intertwined in the world around you and lead you on a path towards more fulfilling relationships with those around you. Along with that comes learning how to cope with difficult times in a relationship in a more productive and effective manner.
We’re also offering psychological assessments for questions regarding ADHD, Autism testing, cognitive functioning, and personality.
Our ultimate goal for professional psychotherapy and counseling therapy is to develop a treatment plan that will allow you to make positive changes for your happiness and for your future.

By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, you will recognize long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Children often experience some of the same challenges and behavioral problems that adults do. With children, they do not have the developmental ability to identify what is going on, verbalize how they are feeling, or fully understand situational changes.
Playing is something that kids are good at and understand, so play therapy is often used. This child therapy technique allows kids to express their problems through play such as painting, character play, games, and creating. Play therapy gives children a medium to express their feelings in the presence of a therapist, and children learn how to identify their emotions, understand how to cope and deal with those emotions, and know that their emotions are never discounted.

Why do people go to therapy and how do I know if it is right for me?
People have many different motivations for coming to psychotherapy. Some may be going through a major life transition (unemployment, divorce, new job, etc.), or are not handling stressful circumstances well. Some people need assistance managing a range of other issues such as low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship problems, spiritual conflicts and creative blocks. Therapy can help provide some much needed encouragement and help with skills to get them through these periods. Others may be at a point where they are ready to learn more about themselves or want to be more effective with their goals in life. In short, people seeking psychotherapy are ready to meet the challenges in their lives and ready to make changes in their lives.
Do I really need therapy? I can usually handle my problems.
Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you’ve faced, there’s nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. In fact, therapy is for people who have enough self-awareness to realize they need a helping hand, and that is something to be admired. You are taking responsibility by accepting where you’re at in life and making a commitment to change the situation by seeking therapy.
How can therapy help me?
A number of benefits are available from participating in therapy. Therapists can provide support, problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping strategies for issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, grief, stress management, body image issues and creative blocks. Many people also find that counselors can be a tremendous asset to managing personal growth, interpersonal relationships, family concerns, marriage issues, and the hassles of daily life. Therapists can provide a fresh perspective on a difficult problem or point you in the direction of a solution. The benefits you obtain from therapy depend on how well you use the process and put into practice what you learn.
Some of the benefits available from therapy include:
- Attaining a better understanding of yourself, your goals and values
- Developing skills for improving your relationships
- Finding resolution to the issues or concerns that led you to seek therapy
- Learning new ways to cope with stress and anxiety
- Managing anger, grief, depression, and other emotional pressures
- Improving communications and listening skills
- Changing old behavior patterns and developing new ones
- Deepening relationships within your marriage, friendships, and with family members
- Improving your self-esteem and boosting self-confidence
Do you take insurance, and how does that work?
Currently we do not take insurance, however depending on your insurance coverage, individuals can still receive reimbursement for portions of the cost of therapy. To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier and how much your insurance will cover an out of network provider, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers.
Some helpful questions you can ask them:
- What are my mental health benefits for an out of network mental health provider?
- Do I have to meet a deductible, and if so, how much is it?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
- How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
